In many cases, using natural rock to achieve these finishes would be impossible or impractical.

Specific materials

The ESTonetex System features specific mortars depending on the type of contact with water. For swimming pools, waterfalls, and outdoor elements exposed to permanent water and thermal cycles, ESTonetex Sulfo is used; for aquariums and immersion with aquatic fauna, where in addition to resistance, safety for marine life is required, ESTonetex Extreme is used—applied in projects such as the Oceanogràfic in Valencia, the Aquarium of Seville, and Pairi Daiza (Belgium).

Both are thixotropic mortars designed to be molded and given large thicknesses without sagging or losing properties in continuous contact with water.
